Bing is very fast capturing more and more market share. Yes, there are a lot of people who won’t believe it, but Google got some serious competition with Bing. If you want to get your share of the Bing traffic you need to first get indexed by Bing. If you have a new web site and you want to get indexed fast in Bing.com, here is what you do:

1. Tell Bing about your site:
Go to http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx and submit your site.
2. Tell Bing about your sitemap:
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=[your site map link].
Just replace [your site map link] with the URL of your site map. For example:
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http://www.linkbuildingservice.us/sitemap.xml

3. Sign up for Bing Webmasters and tell again:
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ and add your site to the web master center.

Another thing: You need links pointing to your site in order to rank higher in Bing. One excellent and easy way to get some links is to sign up for Bing’s webmaster forum: http://www.bing.com/community/.
You can ask questions and usually get a pretty fast reply from Brett Young, the moderator of that forum. But the reason that I mention it here, are the links in your signature. Once you’ve signed up, you can put links in your signature and then make posts on the forum. That gives you instant links back to your site from an authority site.
And these links in Google’s eyes are from a PR8 domain. That does not matter for Bing, but still they are nice dofollow links with anchor text.

You might know that Bing is very receptive to backlinks. That means, that links pointing back to your site are extremely important if you want to get on page 1 in Bing.com.

If you want your site to be fully indexed by Bing, you also have to build backlinks to the internal pages. Recently somebody at the Bing webmaster forum asked why his web site only shows 7 indexed pages, despite the fact that the site has 4,950 back links.
Brett Yount, the forums administrator over at Bing answered:
Overall, your site rank is decent. However, I’ve looked at several of your internal pages using our backend tools, and none of those pages have external backlinks (only links from your domain). While you do have several good backlinks contributing to your overall domain rank, you will need to build page-specific backlinks before those internal pages will get indexed.
So, what do we learn from this? Well, you better build backlinks to all you internal pages as well. If that seems to much work, you can always hire a link building service to help you out.

There is no question that link building is the most important aspect of you SEO strategy. At least the most important part of you off page strategy. The more links are pointing to your web site, the higher the resulting ranking.

But it is not only important to get just any links pointing to your site. You need backlinks with sufficient quality. What you should be looking for are links from sites within your niche or industry. Ideally you would get links from every page that currently shows up on the first page of Bing, Google or Yahoo.
You would go to the search engine that you target and basically try to get a link from every page that is currently ranked in the top ten. But this is in most cases not realistic. Then you try to emulate these links as close as possible. You try to get similar links.
Another strategy is to find the #1 listing for your keyword and try to copy their link profile. You go to Yahoo site explorer and find out which web sites are linking to your competition. The search command for this is link:http://target_website.com.
After you found out who is linking to them, you can now build the same links for your web site. Just figure out what they did to get those links and you are on your way to getting the same rank in a few month from now.
